BARBERTON NURSERY SCHOOL celebrating over 50 years of excellence in early childhood development has had the determination to provide surroundings, in which child development can flourish in a happy and positive setting. The programme we follow promotes independence and self-development in a structured environment. This process includes activities such as cultural activities, music and physical development. Consequently, the school has become known for its high academic standards supplied by qualified and excellent teaching staff. However, we do not underestimate the importance of play in the development of your child. Running, climbing, cycling, balancing and ball games are part of daily play.
Special abilities such as hand-eye and foot co-ordination go hand in hand and are essential for school readiness. Playing is celebrated as the most important way children learn and assists in brain development. Trained dedicated and passionate people work with your child and parents are respected as the primary educators of their children.
The school conveniently situated in a quiet part of Barberton, and easily accessible, has strict security measures in place. There are presently 87 children in the school with 18 staff members.
Children are accommodated in groups based on age. This is done so with a separate, spacious, well equipped, baby friendly section (ages of approximately 3 months – 2 years) as well as five well-planned and carefully resourced classrooms for ages 2 – 6 years.
